Who's afraid of the big bad blog police?
I've had alot of thought in the past few weeks regarding the things I choose to blog. I started off with tidbits and pictures of funny things that I had captured, like this loo on a taxi ,my horny moisturiser and McSupermart. It kinda became a pseudo food blog, and then just a blog to talk rubbish really. I had a short series of cute stuff, but that soon gave way as I wasn't all that cute anyway.
Occasionally, I had ranted about work, and had, of course, heard about all those oh-so-stupid to get sacked from their jobs because of their overly revealing blog personalities..the first being the fired air stewardess
And I thought that the idiot who pose in her work uniform in such a manner deserve the sacking. Ha,ha.
Then comes petiteanglaise. A story of a single English mother living in Paris, its one of my occasional reads to remind me of the chaos of Parisian life that I sacrificed when I chickened out from my move to Paris 4 years ago. There isn't even a picture on site that shows her face or that of her family.Definately none of her workplace. The only think readers know about her is her habit of stopping by starbucks in the morning. If I had one on the way to work, I would too. She had initially whinged about her boss getting into work earlier = she had to as well; but hey, which one of us had not had that happen before?

So it comes as a complete shock when she wrote recently that she had been sacked 2 months ago.http://anglaise.blogspot.com/ Well, not exactly sacked." Dismissed for gross behaviour". Sans warning or even a slap on the hand. I can say that I still have no idea what her company does, despite all that recent hoo hah in the french and english press. I don't get it. She is not cavorting on her blog half naked, neither had she revealed where is she working, nor give it any bad press. If this practice is adopted by all companies world wide, I trust that 70% if bloggers will be sacked.
Well, the only good thing is, if you're fired from your job due to your blogging activicties, you're more than likely to be offered a book deal.
Case in point no. 2.
Dear homecountry had decided that they will presecute bloggers that 'spread lies'. Whether you admit it or not, all of us Malaysians KNOW that 'lies' are what the government would not admit to. Who is to say what is a lie and what is not? And if the blogger is lying, then prove it..and not threaten all bloggers with the fate of presecution. Where is the freedom of speech? Where is the democracy that we claim we practice if we presecute all tom dick and harry just because we feel 'hurt' with their words.
Rememeber all the controversy last year with the high-class malay bitchfeast? I think it was 'vicious' rumors spread about Siti Nurhaliza, Ms Pop Princess Datin-to-be. I don't think it deserve the attention it received...full-fledged investigation and full front page in newspapers daily...until they decided to point fingers at an old timer past her prime superstar...Sharifah Aini http://www.thingsasian.com/goto_article/article.3220.html .If the cops have so much time in their hands to fully investigate a catfight, why don't they spend more time ensuring that other crimes aka robberies and murders are treated with the same amount of attention? Storm in a teacup, AGAIN.

There has gotta be a reason I don't blog about political things, but I just can't help myself this time.
